TRENDS FOR THE CHRISTMAS/WINTER SEASON OF 2018-2019

16/05/2018

It may seem a bit far away, but our designers are currently busy designing new collections for the Christmas and winter season. Do you need some help to create your own collection? Good news, you can find some inspiration below thanks to our overview of colour and design trends.

COLOUR TRENDS

1. RUSTIC TONES

In a society where rush and stress dominates, more and more people are looking for peace and simplicity. We all want to go back to basics, a trend that has clearly become visible the past years in our interiors. The Scandinavian influence, in which neutral soft colours are combined with raw materials, will also hold up this winter. Everybody is searching for a place where it is cozy and safe to come home

2. SOFT ROMANTIC COLOURS

Pink will be still trending in the winter season. In the past year, especially light pink was strongly present in both fashion and interior. This colour creates harmony and is often associated with tenderness. In addition to the soft colours, we also go for accent colours especially around Christmas time. The traditional Christmas colour red evolves this year to a more intense red, like Persian red, raspberry red or wine red.

3. NATURE COLOURS

We are fully experimenting with green in our interiors, houseplants are extremely popular at the moment. Sometimes we have the feeling that we lost the connection with nature. Therefore, we want to bring more green into our interior. It is very clear, ultramarine green and olive green will be trending this winter season.

In addition, we also increasingly choose blue. The soft pastel colours of last year gradually fade and become slightly darker like denim tones, indigo, ink blue, etc. With these shades of blue, we dream spontaneously of beautiful clear waters and oceans.

DESIGN TRENDS

1. NATURE TEXTURES

We want to go back to our roots. In addition to the rustic colours, we also opt for erratic structures. We love imperfection and this we can find in nature.

2. DARK FLORAL

The dark floral theme was already trending but is still trending next winter season. The floral prints have something melancholic, something dramatic. Or is it rather magical?

3. LINES AND DOTS

The geometric patterns are equally trending, but we expect that this winter mainly the herringbone patterns and dots will be booming.

4. ANIMAL PRINTS

Also the animal prints will be back this winter. Tiger, leopard, zebra and snakeskin are expected to become the most popular prints during the next season so watch out.

5. WINTER ETHNIC

We love travelling and this is becoming more and more visible. Influences from all over the world affect our interiors and clothing. At the end of this year, we expect the ethnic prints to revive. These prints immediately create a cozy and homely feeling during the cold days that are coming up.

6. SCARF PRINTS

A trend that has been missed in recent years: scarf prints. A mix of bright colours and busy patterns. It is without a doubt the perfect print to brighten up every interior.

7. SAYINGS

We love to express ourselves and to say what we think. Every day we make statements through different channels, so why not through our interior?
